WHY IS EMERGENCY DENTAL CARE IMPORTANT?

Emergency dental issues, such as injuries, toothaches, and abscess, can be serious and shouldn’t be ignored. Ignoring them allows the condition to worsen—to the point that it becomes permanent. In other cases, patients with untreated dental emergencies lose their teeth for good.

WHAT QUALIFIES AS AN EMERGENCY?

If you’re not sure if it is indeed a true dental emergency, answer the following questions:

  • Is it bleeding?
  • Is it severely painful?
  • Is the tooth loose?
  • Have you been hit in the mouth or face?
  • Is there swelling in the mouth or near it?

If you answered yes to these questions, it’s likely a dental emergency and you need to call immediately.
